You know those memes about people going to parties and ignoring all the humans to hang out with the dog in the corner? They should all feature photos of Amie Barron. You’ll often find her standing out in a crowd by literally lying down in the mud or sitting cross-legged with dogs surrounding her, seemingly having a really good chat with them.

Amie is every dog’s best friend. She absolutely adores dogs and has made it her life’s mission, using her camera and consent-based methods to immortalise every dog she meets and their unique personality with art in ways their humans have never seen before.

Amie photographs dogs in urban and green spaces and can also offer studio sessions in her home or yours (space depending). She prides herself on being London’s most ethical dog photographer and will ensure you and your dog have an amazing, stress-free experience throughout the entirety of your journey together.

She just loves dogs. She goes where they go. Amie is proud to have been the official dog photographer for London Dog Week 2021, Chelsea Dog Day 2022, and The Big Woof 2023. She also loves working with brands and venues to create dog-friendly social material and has recently worked with Weatherbeeta, Different Dog, Humble Grape, and more.

FAQs

  • You don’t need to worry about this at all! It is a professional photographer’s job to understand their camera enough to successfully work with a wiggly subject such as a dog! Also, I’ll make a lot of weird noises and that usually helps. I am well-versed in dog behaviour and will be able to walk you through all the ways we can make magic happen for us and your dog. Plus, the photos are even more amazing when they don’t sit!

  • Absolutely! Most of the dogs I photograph are on leash in their images! I do a lot of photographing of dogs while they’re on the busy streets of London. The dogs safety is always at the forefront of my work and as such, dogs are kept on lead during urban sessions so you needn’t worry about leashes getting in the way of any photo. At the shoot, I will show you how best to hold the leash so that it is easily removed during retouching.

  • I am besties with quite a few reactive dogs. I have also done a course in canine reactivity, so rest assured it isn’t a problem if your dog likes to shout every now and then! Don’t we all? As we get to know each other at the start of your journey with me, you can tell me about your dogs triggers and we will find a location and time where they’ll be as comfortable as possible. No dog deserves to be left out.

  • We all know what London weather is like. As long as it’s dry, we’ll most likely be able to go ahead with a session, unless the cloud coverage takes away all my light! If the weather takes a turn for the worst, we can of course reschedule!
