Who is this Amie Barron and what does she do?

That’s me! No, I haven’t fallen over (probably), I’m down on the ground somewhere in London photographing a dog. The only reason I’m happy to stand out in a crowd is because I’m cross-legged on the floor surrounded by dogs instead of people.

I’m not just a dog photographer. I think I am every dog’s best friend. Through my kindness, compassion and consent-based approach, I work ethically to capture your dog’s uniqueness and create beautiful dog portraits immortalised as luxury artwork pieces for your home. As an inclusive dog photographer, no dog is too reactive, too sick or too challenging for me.

But enough about me - let’s focus on you and your dog, because my approach puts you both right at the centre of everything. I believe so strongly in the philosophy of ‘no dog left behind’. It’s that simple for me because I haven’t yet met a dog that I have not been able to understand and communicate with to get the very best out of them. I feel so passionately about creating a culture of inclusivity around dogs, especially dogs who are reactive, unwell, older, or considered by some (but not me!) to be “difficult”.

In photographing all different personalities and quirks of dogs, I aim to surprise you with awe-inspiring images of your own dog that you never thought were achievable. My goal is for you to leave your portrait session thinking, “I cannot believe my dog was able to pose like that!” and to view your session images completely filled with reverence for your dog.

FAQs

  • I have photographed SO many dogs in London whose owners think they can’t stay still long enough. Guess what? Every time I’ve finished a session with a skeptical human, their dog has completely surprised them every time. I have a tried and trusted range of tricks up my sleeve to help get the best out of your dog. AND the best images are never the ones of them sitting completely still. Trust my process!

  • The safety of a dog in front of my camera in London - as well as others around us - is the utmost priority during our portrait sessions. I will NEVER insist that your dog is off-lead in any context. Believe it or not, most of the dogs in my images were safely on a lead in the original image! With a little retouching fairy dust, you would never know.

  • There are a couple options here if you’d still love to have your reactive dog photographed in London but aren’t sure on the best method. We can choose a quiet location early in the morning to minimise any dog-dog interaction or if it is a major concern for you then a studio session in a private space such as your own home could be the way to go. Discuss this with me in more detail during a pre-booking chat to get the best advice.

  • Let’s be honest, the weather in London can be unpredictable at best. I always try to encourage us to proceed with a shoot even if it’s raining a little bit - there are always some amazing atmospheric images to be had. However, I always keep an eye on the weather forecast the night before and if it gets out of hand or looks to be a total washout we can absolutely reschedule.
